Good Friday, solo ride with some climbing in the sunshine
Good Friday, so the traffic was light, and the sun shining,(like it happens every year!) I took a long ride with the objective of doing some climbs. I went out Redbourn, Gaddesdon and started with Briden’s camp (down and up) Pedley Hill across up Hudnall, along to Ringshall and down into Dagnall, up Dagnall and then over Dinstable Down, round the bottom and back up Bison, along to Dagnall and back up to Ringshall, back down Hudnall and up Pedley Hill and down Dagnall, up to Ringshall, past (without stopping!) Ashridge, down Tom’s Hill into Aldbury, along to Ivinghoe village and up towards Ivinghoe, went past Ivinghoe, down into Ivinghoe Aston, so I could go and climb the whole of Ivinghoe Beacon, Ringshall, Hudnall, Pedley Hill, Dunstable Down to Terrnhoe, and the back up over Dunstable down and home. A good amount of climb, ~1600m, although the Garmin software says I only burned 2000cal, which as usual is suspect. I consumed two gels, one Torq bar and two bottles of electrolyte.
