Denia Training Camp: Day 3
Another reasonable night’s sleep (it’s not my own bed) today’s ride was scheduled to be a 90km ride with a couple of climbs in it, with a maximum height of 805m. The medium group rolled out first and we made our way up to the top, pretty much up hill all the way to the top of the 805m, then on the descent there were a couple of little inclines. On one of the inclines before we hit the climb to the top of the Coll de Rates, Ole hit a stone in the road which ripped a hole in his rear tyre. A repair was performed enough to reach the van which was waiting a the top of the Coll de Rates, where a wheel swap was effected for the return to Denia. As we rolled back to Denia, he was having some difficulty finding the gears with no adjustment. Back in Denia there is a bike shop where he could buy a replacement tyre.
Denia Training Camp: Day 3
Looking at the Garmin results for the day, I think it is possible to see the fatigue creeping in, my average power output was back down at 190w, and heart rate average down at 130. Tomorrow is probably a rest day, as bad weather was forecast, which should help with recovery prior to a big day on thursday, when a 140km ride is currently scheduled.
