Guildford Peloton outing – wet, and ‘orrible
Saturday was meant to be a nice day, but when I poked my head through the curtains, it was wet. I looked and figured it was brightening up. My weather forecasting is not very good obviously. I loaded the car and took off to Worcester Park to depart for a nice day in the Surrey Hills. It was p*ssing with rain when we left, heading off to Esher to meet Mike. On arriving at the appointed location, no sign of Mike. A few minutes later he turned up, having just suffered a puncture, which as it turned out, not repaired well. We popped back to his house to change bike. Off we went only for Big G to suffer a puncture on potholes at a roundabout shortly after. We covered many of the classic climbs of the Surrey Hills, finishing on the Col de Box. A very welcome tea and carrot cake at the cafe. D suffered a complete failure of his derailleur on the climb to Ranmore common, and he had to return to Worcester Park by train.
