At the start of the ride this morning it looked like quite a good day, and up until about 10km from the top if the Bales, it was. Then we got rain, hail, cloud and wind. No temptation to hang around on the top of the Bales – mind you the descent down the other side certainly required “care”.
So we did some 120km or so, with around 2200m of climb – the Col des Ares and the Port de Bales.
Now the challenge is will the legs have an etape course left in them for tomorrow?
Pyrenees lives up to it’s reputation for delivering diverse weather…
