I guess I must have done too much yesterday – I was not really feeling up to much today, definitely needed to sit in the pack. We went out for an 07:30 start again, but only got as far as the top of Pedley Hill before turning, could probably have done more, but I wimped out. The the club run, starting with the punctures. However at the second puncture, the group was large enough to split so we went off with the lead group.
On the return as we got to the bottom end of Gaddesdon Row, the Jockey End corner, one of the guys took the corner too fast, straightened up on to the grass run off, but hit the hole. I’m not sure I’ve seen a forward cartwheel complete with bike before. Either way, it appears he probably broke hist collarbone in the process. We arranged for transport for him to return, he really should not even try to ride, Eddie’s wife was very helpful to facilitate the rescue. Fingers crossed for a rapid recovery without complications.
Overall, managed to get over 1000m of climb, even if it was only 78miles.
